Allison was born in New York City and moved to Broward County when she was young to pursue an education. She graduated from Florida State University. Through hard work, Allison graduated St. Thomas University law school at age 21. While in law school, Allison spent hours with juveniles in juvenile detention centers and volunteered to teach high school students in schools that couldn’t afford to hire teachers. These experiences taught Allison the value of hard work and making a difference in people's lives.

Allison Gilman has been a attorney in Broward County for more than 30 years in both public and private practice, helping people in their times of need, especially clients who have been physically or mentally abused.  As a litigator, she has tried over 200 cases in Broward County courts.  She runs her own successful law firm.  These accomplishments led Allison to become a nationally recognized attorney. She has appeared on numerous national TV shows to share her legal analysis of trials including Court TV, CNN, Nancy Grace, Anderson Cooper, and more.

Besides the law, Allison’s passion is being a foster mom. When a homeless child came to her door one rainy night with nothing but the clothes on his back and a teddy bear in hand, Allison took him in. She cared for the young boy for three years and helped him reunite with his biological mother because it was the right thing to do. Today Allison is the mother of a beautiful 11-year- old daughter and encourages people to become foster parents, because the ability to change someone’s life has been the hallmark of Allison Gilman’s entire life and career.
